Add an option to find people who are from your country

For example, setting a search filter to find people who share the same country as you do.

Doubt this will ever happen just because of privacy issues.

If you want to find people like this, find groups for that country and see if they have a "looking for friends" thread.

The search should only work on public profiles that have listed a country, obviously.

And if you don't want anyone to know which country you come from, then don't list a country on your profile.

Then the search turns those results up for people who search for those countries. And if they start getting invites from people who are legitimately from those "meme" countries and they get annoyed, maybe they'll change their country to something else, or remove it.

I don't want people wanting to add me as a friend just because I am from the same country as they are. I would not want people to be able to search and find me only because they are from the same country as I am.

Not everyone wants to join a group. And groups with more than 100 members no longer show the memberlist.

Sorry but might right to display that out does your want to be able to search for stuff like that to bug people just because they are from the same country.

Heck you don't even have it on your profile.

Anyway, its easy enough to search or ask around for user groups dedicated to people in the same country as you are.

If you are unwilling to join a group, why should they bother doing a whole lot of work to add in a search for something that is going to annoy people and get complaints thrown at them.

They don't have an easy way to track down/search for everyone from a specific country thats not part of an open group for that country, so thats my point.

They could just spam a bunch of random accounts with invites,but the chances of those accounts being from the same country are pretty low.

So make it an opt-in function.

Make it so people who want to find others and who want others to find them, can enable a setting for that.
