OP is asking for "porn" tag so he can block games with that tag from showing on his store page.
I offered before to add ability of blocking of certain combination of tags, instead of single ones.
It will work more precisely, avoiding exclusion of too wide range of things.
afaik, unchecking "Adult Only Sexual Content" also may exclude way too wide range of things and not exclude things you actually need to be excluded.
as a fast solution excluding "anime" tag helps a lot.
(although when some things have this tag mistakenly, it may exclude the things you may need)
Excluding any single tag will always exclude some games that you don't want excluded.
Yeah, I've heard that the "new releases" section shows you "adult only" games regardless of whether you have the "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter checked or unchecked. To be fair, I think the same goes for the other filters under "Mature Content," ("General Mature Content," "Frequent Violence or Gore," "Nudity or Sexual Content,") but it would be nice if Valve changed it so that the "new releases" section didn't show you "adult only" games when you have the "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter on.
The "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter should stop "adult only" games from showing up in most other areas, though.
All games I've seen with the "adult only" banner on their store pages have clearly been "porn" games, so if someone doesn't want to see porn I don't think they have to worry about the "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter getting rid of anything they may want to see. I made a "catch all" post a while ago that may help clear some things up about the "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter:
I should probably add the bit about the "new releases" section being unaffected by "Adult Only Sexual Content" filter to it.
Did this Change in the "LIBRARY BETA UPDATE"?
I did not Opt Into the LIBRARY BETA...
There are 3 Options already Available...
1.) Block Nudity & Content
2.) Block Nudity & Content Even further...
3.) Blurr Nudity related Content...
In STEAM Store...
So far, I don't have any idea if #3 even works...
Yeah, that would be a good idea, but here is why it isn't:
"Orwell" is tagged visual novel. I know, not really a new release, but a game that I loved. I wouldn't see those games in new releases when blocking this tag.
Same goes for blocking "Anime". That would block amazing games like "Ni no Kuni" and "Final Fantasy".
So no, can't just block those tags.
I know that my examples are sorto big games and already a bit older and would not appear in new releases. But I hope you get my point
Be more Detailed, maybe?
Adult Only Sexual Content & Nudity or Sexual Content
I just don't want like sltty Games, but I still want Games like GTA,
where they have Adult Themed Clubs...
So it's like they need to be more specific of what we
can Block Out of our Store Pages...
Also, I think these things should be blocked in all Areas of the Store Page,
not specific Areas...
I would hate to find that STEAM got overly censored one day with nothing
but PG-13 / TEEN & Under related only Content, due to some minor finding
some porn on STEAM that was not filtered out, when a Filter was placed, &
Valve got in trouble, & we had to suffer, because of it... o_@
Sure they might have a few things you dont like here and some stuff might squeeze through loopholes, but hey we are adults here (mostly) and if you cant skip past these titles then the issue is with yourself.
Oh and as for the "children" excuse- use the parental tools steam gives you and supervise your children , if they are unsupervised well, if they are here browsing on steam it means they've got the whole web to see things that maybe they shouldn't.
Click next and move on people.
Welcome to 2019, you will find the current year much different from the victorian age you came from. People are now much more toler....yeah I couldn't finish that cause we are more intolerant than every before, at least the modern left are.
Bring back the hippy liberals please, I don't like these fascist lefties that want everything banned and speech made illegal.
What kind of a crap argument is this supposed to be?
I have no problem with those games existing. Never said I had any issues with that.
Okay, I agree that I could have chosen better words in the first sentence. But getting those games removed was not what I meant by that. I'm sorry for any sort of misunderstanding on that part.
If you like it, good for you. Go ahead. Play them, buy them, do whatever you want. You are free to do so.
Still, in my opinion, there should be a clear way to filter them out for those that are just not interested in those type of games.
I don't want anything banned. Just a way for me to filter out content I don't like for myself.
Look, OP, YOU enabled the adult sexual content. Period. End of.
Dont come here complaining about seeing stuff THAT YOU ENABLED. There isnt a problem because you dont understand how those filtering options work.
Read the answers, turning off adult only content does NOT apply to browsing new releases.
Yes, it does. You will not see "porn" in new releases if you dont have it enabled.
I always think these threads are ridiculous. I have all the filter disabled, they can show me anything and guess what?
I pretty much never see these games in the store. I wonder why that is?
...and let's completely skip over the fact that what youre saying is Valve is showing "porn" in the store, to anyone, with no filters, including minors. No, they are not.
No. That isnt happening. What is far more likely is that you are seeing stupid "hentai slider puzzle" games, that have NO nudity, that "righteous" people like yourself have gone ahead and abused the tag system with, labeling them as "adult, sexual, etc". This happens. frequently.
EDIT: Hentai Pix is NOT one of those games. However, it DOES have DLC that makes it into one of "those games". Id argue that since the base game does not include "porn", that it isnt a "porn" game. I will acknowledge that the DLC is free if you buy the game, which is an interesting development - but "the game" itself isnt a "porn" game.
