Valve should really take care of these fake giveaways posted on the community page.
So far, the community is being infected by a bunch of these fake giveaways, like example, FREE $100 GIVEAWAY CODE ENDS XX-XX-2018! These giveaways mostly are involving CS:GO, since it's one of Valve's most popular games, and when you hear money, giveaway, and skins at once, people might be tempted to try it out to win free stuff, when in order to "win" their items, they'd have to trade in as much as what the site promised they'd give away, usually. These sites will not give but take, if you were to put in skins. Usually, when you go on the community page, it's either displayed as a video, workshop item, and possibly something else.
Now I question why lots of people would believe then, when they could just use their brains to go "Ok, a company is trying to promote their own trade site by doing a CRAZY give away, but giving away $100 to anybody who comes on the site huh? Wouldn't they be losing than gaining?" They usually will put a rage from $20-$100s of each "giveaway", which again makes it seems quite fishy, cause when you see actual trusted trade sites and not these dopplegangers trying to scam people do giveaways alike to what they're doing where everybody wins, it's usually for either a few dollars or possibly a skin that comes in various qualities, and ever so rarely you can win a knife or a really expensive skin, but RARELY like 0.01% chance.
There's usually only one guy promoting these fake sites, and he makes 1 new steam account (that's private mostly) to promote his video, because he's maybe getting banned for posting these videos by mods who focus on the community, and thinking that'll solve the problem, or to keep every account's record clean so they can remain "trustable".
What I think Valve can do this is to set up some sort of post filter to filter out anything involving the word "giveaway, Free $100, etc." They could also set it where in order to post links on steam, the link needs to be secure and not not secure. 90% of the time, these sites will say "not secure" at the top of where the link is shown (depending on what browser you're using). Valve could also post more rules about spam, and doing giveaways on the community page (unless approved).

The only think that's somewhat attempting to try to solve the problem is some of the comments made on them saying how these are scams. Sometimes, the account who authored the post usually might remove your comment and block you from talking on that. If maybe there is too many people saying it, they might just stop bothering about it. But the thing is, this is just basically "slowing them down" in some way and not stopping this cancer. It needs to be stopped, and Valve really isn't doing anything about it, but you could. If you haven't tried it already, there's a little cogwheel at the right of the post, click it and there's a report option. You can report the post to Valve that it's a scam, and the more people who report it, the more likely Valve will notice about the problem and help take care of it. It's kinda like some vote kick system. With enough votes, you can kick the bastard out.

My advice to give to you about these sites that do giveaways like this, is to listen to ones that are verified, promoted by trustable youtubers, etc. Not promoted by some guy who probably lives in the middle of a run down place in [Insert some place to not sound racist here] who made some random account promoting a video by some small youtube channel that nobody has heard of.
Just think of this of an example, you're walking down the street to your local jewelry store that has been promoted all over town as a real great company for jewelry, so you can get a nice gold and diamond ring that'll cost you a good bit. A creepy person gestures you over on the other side of the road to sell you a ring that looks like it would be made out of gold with diamonds, but for a cheaper price. Here's the thing, you don't know that the ring the creepy guy is trying to sell you is in fact fake. Which one would be the real trustable one here? This is just, I guess a metaphor on the situation.

Thanks for paying attention to this post at all. This is a big problem in the community. I posted it in the suggestions/ideas, cause it is suggesting an idea about fixing this problem and it's not really needing help or giving tips. If you can, you can post your opinion about the situation, add anything I may have missed, or maybe help correct anything that I put. Once again, these scammers need to be stopped, and Valve are the only ones who can really help stop this infection significantly.
I know that this is quite long and seems tl;dr, but you'll have to suck it up cupcake cause what is wrong with taking your time and reading something for a few minutes?
If you don't understand my given point, or just skimmed through what I said and not fully read it, then why are you here?

I hope you can understand the given problem. I am just trying my best as a member of the community to help with some situations the community is dealing with. Thank you so much for reading through my terrible writing skills, if you did. Thanks for at all anything you can do to help stop this problem. Comment down below what you think upon these scams and what you think Valve can or should do about it. I hope you have a fantastic day/night and Happy New Year to everybody!

yeah, they'll be removed about 6 hours later when everyone who's active on the forums already saw it.

This is what I just said in my post on one part. Report them is one way to stop them, but it doesn't stop them permanently.

you cant permanently stop them, but we can get many of them banned

I know that, and Valve could also take action and help enforce some system to scan and ban them automatically. They have power to slow them down a lot more than we can.

The problem with an automated system is that there is always a way to fake out the system and get around it.

The only true way to solve this problem, along with many other online issues (spam, cheating, harrassment, etc...) would be if there was some magical way to securely link an account to a specific person. Then if that person was banned, they couldn't just create a new account with a new email and start all over. Unfortuantely we are a long way away from seeing this happen.

Maybe when someone can actually design one that the bots can't figure out how to defeat.
Unless a gambling site has an official license and monitored/controlled, they are illegal and shouldnt be used

As of right NONE of these skin gambling sites are authorised to do what they are doing, period. It doesnt matter which youtuber is promoting it.
