Swedish steam store views prices in EURO. We use SEK
It's very annoying to have to calculate the currency when purchasing something. We don't use EURO, we use SEK (Swedish Kroner). This needs to be fixed. You should also be able to view from any country what it costs in the most common currency, like pound, euro and dollar.

Thanks

1. displaying you the other prices would be illegal in the EU
Afaik the only EU-wide legislative text governing price indication is the Price Indication Directive 98/6/EC and it does not require sales prices to be listed in any particular currency. The only thing it requires is for those prices to be listed including applicable VAT.

2. displaying you currency converted prices would cause confusion because that 50€ game would not cost $50 like it does on Steam where USD price is applicable.
Displaying a 50 USD game as costing 524,80 SEK by its going rate, the actual amount deducted from their accounts when proceeding to check-out and commencing to pay, would be confusing how exactly to Swedish users?
Showing them a price in EUR that has nothing to do with their actual currency and expecting them to do the math in their heads; now that's confusing.
That the thing Euro = usd/etc? You have to use a dynamic price converter at all times, which doesn't make sense, or apply same sense again she is right Euro doesn't = same value as USD, and this can cause confusion when looking at it when prices are not same in all regions, so really doesn't make sense to do this at all, which why all of them just stick to setting said currency for each region, and apply tax, or vat correctly the region it sold in, rather than showing 30+ price tags in front of you instead of the price tag you mainly want to see which is euro.

sweden is unstable. not the currency, but the future of swedens role in the EU
Sweden has been a member of the EU since '95. The EU itself, as the EU, didn't exist until '93 when it was formed with the Maastricht Treaty. Before that, there were several precursors based on treaties that reinforced predominately economic cooperation like the European Economic Community (EEC), but not full political and governmental ones. Sweden is practically a founding member.
Being a long member doesn't mean the state it is in, can say you been member to golf club for 30 years, that doesn't mean you're in a good state to playing golf if had back problems, or etc...

AFAIK Sweden still has some kind of problems + the migrants with the no go zones. Of course her post from 2020, so you know been 3 years now. Funny enough 3 years it took for this to even happen.

I just want to add that I live in Sweden and we're far from an unstable country. These things happen everywhere, the different here is that it hasn't happened on this scale and/or in this way before. Or not in a long time anyway.
I live in Sweden and, although I don't really mind seeing Euro as my Steam currency since I was born and raised in Britain where they still use GBP anyway (so converting is just something I got used to), I just wanted to say that Sweden is a great place to live :) Sure it has some problems, but tell me of a place that doesn't. Everyday life here is just tops and the Swedes are great people :kabang:

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
