MMO Server Status
Just a few simple indicator lights on the game page to tell us if a server is up or down (NA/EU/ETC if applicable)

Ask the developers of the games to do that, they would be the knows who know.

That's what a good game launcher is for. It allows the players to not only log in, but will also show status for any servers that the game uses.

I think this would be something for BOTH sides, but Steam would have to have something enabled in place, instead of having to launch everytime just to see if a game is still in maintnenance. I mean when you get down to it Steam IS the first launcher for games we have on Steam... we have News or MoTD enabled, why not a simple box with a few Red/Green lights too

It would still be up to the developers to add that. Most have it listed in their own forums on their websites.

point is still that they can't add something that doesn't exist on this end
