STEAM games without STEAM client
Any possibility to ever legally play at least some selected STEAM games without the STEAM client?

Yes there are some now that don't require it. Its all up to the devs of the game to use Steam as DRM. What games they are I have no idea. But I have seen other say they play without the client from time to time in some of their games.

So if you want Steam DRM free games, go ask the developers of the games to not require steam client to be running while playing the game.

That would be peculiar. I guess it has to become a standard. Meaning, a lot of time must pass. I know one can simply grab the gamefiles, at least in some cases, and have it go just like that, but I mean the thing to be clear.

Any game that you can just grab the file and start playing the game, without starting steam up, is a Steam DRM free game.

As far as I know, the ones that require Steam will say they require steam to be on, or will actually start it up or at least try to.

Again, its 100% up to the devs of the games. Go ask them. Valve has nothing to do with that. Its the game devs choice to use it or not use it.

What I really mean is also ability to download the game without the use of STEAM client.

That will never happen.

All EA games bought on Steam can be registered on Origin and can then be downloaded there.

Technically speaking my beef with STEAM client is that it leaves a lot of rubbish around if uninstalled. Actually it failed to fully uninstall the last time I had it.

Lot's of software does that. One can simply delete the leftovers manually.

Well I do speak to myself on daily basis in a thoughtfully self explorative manner - as one needs to have a sensible disputant at least from time to time - nonetheless despite trying it with Admin stuff and other, it budged not.

Downloading games with out the client. SteamCMD.exe
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD You still need the client to play them if not DRM though. http://steam.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games

i don't understand why you are un-installing Steam? That is not really true if un-installer is ran properly. But you want clean. https://geekuninstaller.com/download free or {LINK REMOVED}

"but, I don't like portable un-installers that clean! up!"
And if you don't have admin rights on your PC, or are tring to hide things from sys admin your problem, you probably shouldn't be installing un-installing things anyway.
Huh, well, thanks, going to skip it anyway.

Yeah, just wanted to play Hexcells but for some reason I have to have an entire STEAM machinery to do that. The game should be like for free on WindowsStore or something. But instead it is here for five euro, with achievements.
