Disable "Hooray!" message if friend's library is shared
You know, it really annoys when this message appears each time a friend leaves the game, and it blocks part of the game screen. I don't want to know when a friend's free and I am finally able to run some of his games, I say: "Not now!", it says: "But I'm just informing you!", and I say: "So what, you want a cupcake only for this thing you keep poking right on my forehead???"

People complain when they receive the notification.
People complain when they don't receive the notification.
The struggle is real.

oh, btw...Steam, Settings, Family, then untick the notification box.

This option is only available when library is authorized on current PC. In my opinion this is needed if I manage to share my library in MY OWN PC with MYSELF. SO do I really need to leave it on?

OK. So you are saying that if you are on a different computer that doesnt have sharing activated, you still receive the notification?

Yeeeees... if I correctly understand you, the notification flag should be off on the friend's PC I'd activated sharing in, then it will not appear again?

maybe do both the friend and your main one to be sure. That's what I would do.

Please know what you are talking about before you comment.

The OP knows perfectly well what he/she is talking about as do I.

When you do family share, only one person can use the library at once. When that one person is done, steam will send a notification to the other person that they are able to use the library.
The OP does not want to be notifiied as its distracting.

I don't seem to have those options on my family setting, how can I make that box stop appearing? it appears at least 3 times per minute and it's driving me mad!

Since nobody seems to have a response to this, I will say that as long as your computer is authorized to display their library, you will get that message. They have to revoke your privileges through their own account, then you will lose their library as well as the message. I know this is a late replay, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else online either. Hopefully this helps anyone coming here, since this thread was the first Google result. No amount of tinkering with my family settings fixed the issue for me.

Probably disabling steam overlay will stop this message from appearing in games.
