Max achievements per game!
Hello
I'm a achievement hunter, and I have over 2k of them. Lately I saw games like Zup, Zup 2, Dinosaur Hunter, and more with a lot ridiculously easy achievements. It's stupid! Makes my achievements that I worked so hard to get, look like ♥♥♥♥.

So here is my idea:

Set max achievements number per game.
Free game - 50 achievements.
0,99 - 5 Euro - 75 achievements.
5 - 10 Euro - 100 achievements.
10 - 20 Euro - 150 achievements.
Etc.

I don't want more cheap and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games that only value lies in getting easy achievements.

The developers of the game can add as many achievements as they like. Valve/steam doesn't really limit it.

Yeah, I know, my idea is that they start limiting them before it's too late.

So what? Why should Valve tell game makers "you can only put in x many achievements if you charge x amount for a game".

If a game maker wants to put in 0 or 1 or 1000 or 100,000 achievements into a game they can, its their game, not Valves.

If the devs own time if they want to do that.

Achievements don't do anything generally so why should they be limited?

Ask yourself one question: why devs put so many achievements to games?
And why those games are usually piles of ♥♥♥♥?
Because they are nothing more then a cheap ach farms.

There is a small group of people like me called "Achievements hunters" we have so much fun with getting them, and such games ruin this fun for us.

Did adding so many achievements to the game make it any better? I don't think so.

You dont have to purchase those games. You can just let the ones that want 1000s of achievements to do what they like and you just stick to the games you want.

Who are you, the achievement police?

My friend I'm afraid you are missing the point.

1. Leaving this unchecked will result in dozens of mediocre games with 1000s of achievements.
2. It's diminishing value of achievements, till today I was proud of my collection of over 2 000 achievements, now anyone can get that much in couple of hours. It took me over 4 years to get them.
3. I'm felling kinda cheated, and sad because my precious achievements are now worthless.

1- In your opinion.

2-You can just ignore those games.

3- That's all you to work out by yourself.

Why are you making this a big deal? if you don't like a lot of acheivments for one game, then SIMPLY DO NOT PLAY THAT GAME! Was that hard? I don't think so.

And I repeat what I said... so what? If you don't like that a game has 1000 achievements then don't buy the game.

What if you buy a game that doesn't have any achievements but then the devs add in 1000 achievements? Are you going to ask for a refund?

Does adding even 1 achievement to a game make the game better? No. Why do devs add achievements to games? Because they want to.

If your OCD is so bad that you want to control how many achievement are put into games based on their price, then I'll drive you a little bit more crazy... there are achievements out there that can not be achieved for one reason or another. And you usually don't know what games are like that till you play and discover you can't get that one single achievement.

Seriously its up to the developers of the game to decide if they put achievements into their games and how many they want to put into their games. Valve will NEVER tell devs/publishers what they can and can't do with their games.

If you are so OCD about having to have all the achievements then there are 3rd party programs out there that allow you to get all the achievements for any game you want all at once.

Why not focus on the difficulty of the acheivment and not how many there are?

I'm an achievement hunter too and you know what? I like stupid silly games with tons of achievements that don't last long enough for me to feel like I'm wasting my time. The bigger the smile it puts on my face the better.

To each his own. Just because you like or do not like something doesn't mean that others will as well.

As others have said, ignore it and move on. Or let it consume you, which is asinine.
Exiled Alchemist Feb 9, 2017 @ 8:51am
If you don't like how achievemnts are being done in a game then don't buy/play that game. If it really bothers you that much then find a new hobby, and move on. In other words stop being an achievement addict, and move on with life. Achievements don't mean anything, and they have no impact on the industry. All you have are worthless images, and text saying that you have way too much time on your hands.
