Gamestop Steam Wallet Cards

So a few days ago I walk into Gamestop to get Civilization 5 Gods & Kings and a $20 Steam Wallet card. I look around the store, but don't find anything. Knowing that Gamestop hates PC gamers, I walk up the the desk and ask for the Steam Wallet Card first. The man walks ALL over the store looking for the card. After 2 minutes or so he comes back and tells me that they don't have it. They also didn't have Civ 5 G&K but that's not my point here (I got it somewhere else easily).

Is it a card you actually grab and take to the register? Or do you just ask the employee to add a $20 steam wallet card? I ended up walking out of there not spending a dime. I still want to get the 'card' and will even go to Best Buy if they have them there. Wat do?

Here's how it works

1) Grab card from the dusty back of the PC section behind the "Beware the Tiger" sign in the bathroom
2) Take card to register.
3) Register scans card
4) The RECEIPT will have a code on it. The card is only a barcode SKU scan. Not your typical 'gift card'
5) Go home, open Steam and click Games->REdeem Wallet Code
6) Input code on the receipt like a cd-key
7) PROFIT?

So the card really isn't what you think . The cards actually have no value. It's the receipt that has the code to redeem. This is why Steam Wallet cards make somewhat poor 'gifts' as a crumpled up Gamestop receipt looks pretty lame.

BTW G&K is only available Digitally.

I asked the guy at the register and after looking. He said he couldn't find it. There isn't a PC section at all. You ask the employee and they open a tiny drawer under the register which has a few PC games.

I picked up the physical copy of Civilization 5 Gods And Kings expansion pack at Target.

Odd I've nver seen a retail of GK but maybe I wasnt looking? :)

Some gamestops dont have PC sections these days. so that's not surprsing
