Borderlands 2 infinite spinning

As soon as the first cutscene ends, the characters starts very quickly spinning in circles, moving the mouse the opposite direction only temporarily slows it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling local content, checking the cache, adjusting the in game sensitivity, adjusting the mouse sensitivity, disconnecting the mouse and using the laptop mousepad but nothing stops it. Can anyone help?

My friend is having a screen spinning problem on this game. When he launches his character is spinning so the game must assume his left click is held down and when he starts the game he is in a constant spin that is going insanely fast. He booted up DOTA 2 and Gotham City Impostors and experienced no such problems. He doesn't have a controller plugged in and we tried lowering the dpi on his mouse. He did mention he had a similar problem on Hunted: The Demon's Forge so I'm guessing something to do with UE3 although I'm not certain. Any ideas how to remedy this?

NVM got it fixed he had a usb device that mimicked a controller
