Black Ops 2 Headset help
im using a wired 360 controller and a 360 headset. my steam settings for voice has both the mic and headset enabled and the tests work just fine. My W7 sounds settings are also setup with the headset earphone as the default communication device for playback and mic is the default communication device for recording...

speakers are the default device for playback

when i go into the game i can only hear people out of my speakers and i dont think anyone can hear me cause nobody responds and the even in the lobby your speaker icon will generally light up when you talk...i get nothing. on 360 that speak icon lights up when u speak...so i assume it would do that on PC too

when i look at the Black Ops 2 sound tab in the game options it shows my speakers as the device being used and there is no option for my headset...voice chat is enabled.

Are you sure your headset isn't a 360 exclusive headset? Some will not work for the PC no matter what you do, from that line up.

what do u mean 360 exclusive? it is a 360 headset...its the one that plugs into the 360 controller. windows found the drivers right away and its listed as headset for windows...just like the 360 controller is listed as controller for windows.

it works in the steam setup tests...just not in the game

Oh the default headset from the 360, I thought you were talking about an actual gaming headset. I can't even believe Steam works with that POS. I doubt Black OPs supports that headset that is why you can't choose it.

i tryed another headset which black ops sees in the settings now, but when i select it all it does is playback the sound through the headphones. still cant get the mic working even though in the game the voice level meter goes all the way up when i talk....it just wont work in the games

I have the same problem with my Turtle Beach P11 headset. It shows up fine in Steam settings, My PC settings, and in Blops 2 Zombies settings, but in the game the mic is not working. I can hear myself in the headset, but no one else can hear me. Any help?

i found that u have to hold the Z button down to talk...lame

you can change the key layout to your likeing for the talk key

why do people always say that? everyone knows you can change the key bindings. its not about which key you have to push, its the fact that you must hold it down to talk....thats so lame. no wonder nobody talks during the game. who wants to try and hold down a key when they are trying to shoot fools

I agree, pretty lame. My mouse has a key for voice chat though, not much help if your using a controller though.

go into settings, sound, and it should say sound device and select your headset. Sorry if it does not work
