New Laptop

I need some advice on what to get, i dont have a large budget and ive found these two, which one should i get? and what games will i be able to run?

I'd go for the Intel one, should be better for playing games and general use. Should be able to play most games well on medium graphics :)

i know that the processor is better, but it only has intel hd gfx whereas the amd has two gfx and a quad core

The Intel HD is pretty much equal to those two in the AMD laptop. AMD's 8 cores are nowhere near as good as some of Intel's 4 cores so I wouldn't realy worry about how many cores it has.

ive decided on getting the hp with the AMD, i looked at some youtube videos of people using the same laptop with same specs playing BF3 on high settings and at 25 fps :)

The Intel one has HD 3000 graphics, like all 23xxM models, and it's actually surprisingly good. I can't compare it to the ATI stuff, but it would probably have been better for gaming. I generally stay away from HP products, but anyway, you already decided, so I hope it works out! :) It's a nice little machine in any event.

25 fps is not good. 30 is minimum to play smoothly so you will still have to tone it down to medium anyway.

im getting it around christmas time, and why do you stay away from hp products?

I had a HP laptop and a HP netbook, and both died on me within less than a year, so it's a brand I avoid. Had warranty, but still had to send it in, wait ages, then the netbook came back with a faulty battery and I had to wait some more. But that's really just me and I may simply have been unlucky. Just the kind of experience that changes your purchase behavior.

I concur, HP motherboards do not seem to hold up. They usually go out right around (after) warranty time.

its so tempting, but the intel one had hd graphics and from what i hear its hard to run new games even on low settings

You should be able to run the on med hopefully, maybe some of the settings on low. Remember you are buying a low-mid range laptop - not a gaming PC - so don't expect to be able to run new games on the best settings.

yeah i realised that :P and ive seen videos of the AMD one running mw3 and battlefeild smoothly
