Flash Player 11

I've got a problem with Flash Player 11.

I've downloaded flash player 11 following steams instructions, however, trailers and videos still don't work.
I've tried Re-Installing it, I've tried it from different browsers. Still. No luck. Plus, i've restarted my computer several times, still to no avail.


The primary reason for getting Flash Player was to listen to the source radio plugin. Having to go through this is a bit of a put-off.

Flash 11 will lock up Firefox on all my PCs. Adobe support says to use a version of Flash 10 that does not auto update itself, maybe that will help. I've swtiched to Chrome now anyways.

What's weird about Steam, is when you uninstall Flash from Add/Remove programs, store videos won't play but videos in Game Hubs will. :)

edit: my steam client just crashed when trying to play a video posted by a friend on the Friends wall. Oh well, I probably won't reinstall Flash just for that.

perhaps because it is an artificial problem, that does NOT exist in the majority of users? - For example, I have everything working fine

Normally It's a Restart computer job, but that wasn't the case.

Don't blame other user for a problem you haven't entcountered yet. Because it may happend to you also.
My steam install had runn for years on this computer, then, sundenly, I hit this issue too. I tried many solutions without success.

I am having the same problem even with linux Desura works just fine im about done with steam I wont buy any more games until this problem is solved. Anyone able to get videos to play with steam and how?

you're using the wrong flash player there's a different one for steam media. go here, all your problems should be fixed after following the instructions http://store.steampowered.com/gotflash

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I've solved this issue ages ago.

I used the correct one but I didn't restart my computer, (restarting steam didn't work) so I restarted my computer and everything corrected itself.

Nothing of this works. If i go to the http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ in the webbrower in the steam overlay ingame, it says "Flashplayer already installed but it is deactivated"... hu?! So how do i activate flash player? To be clear not in a normal browser, eg Firefox, Chrome, IE... in the Steam Webkit Browser during playing a game and open the steam overlay.
