You should check for driver updates of your TV monitor and GPU
I should also mention i am using HDMI, and NOT vga...And i did notice while using hdmi, there was some overscan slightly when using 1080p
Setting width should automatically set the height with a valve game, but if it doesn't add -h 1080

I normally do that when a game crashes
Sorry, im kinda new to steam and pc gaming as a whole, compared to my light pc gaming years before.
And the thread is over 3 years old. I'm pretty sure OP fixed the issue already...
