Left 4 Dead 2 1920 x 1080 setting missing?
I have just installed L4D2 on my new computer and while everything is fine and all is working at 1080p, I am having some issues getting just this game at this resolution. All others work fine.

I should also note that i am using my 55' LED tv for a monitor, which again, all other games work fine while doing this.

I have the resolution on 1920 x 1080. so that's weird..

You should check for driver updates of your TV monitor and GPU

im using all new drivers, etc. And the TV is just that..a TV...its a smart tv and the driver is correct, plus the tv is correctly being identified under all my settings as a valid tv capable of processing 1080p...ugh, this sucks...lol

I should also mention i am using HDMI, and NOT vga...And i did notice while using hdmi, there was some overscan slightly when using 1080p

If you havn't already done so, try forcing it by using the launch options - right click on the game in your library, select properties, then in the General tab select 'Launch Options' and in the box that comes up type -w 1920

Setting width should automatically set the height with a valve game, but if it doesn't add -h 1080

There is a Support article about setting launch options ->here<- if you want to read more on that.

thank you so much. But now im having issues even getting the damn game to start! As soon as i launch, it errors and "sends a report" to nowhere...

Verify the game files, and then try again :)

I normally do that when a game crashes

Verify the game cache - right click on the game in your library, select properties, local files tab, verify integrity of game cache.

You can change the game's resolution by going to options at the main menu >go on video >on the top it should say aspect ratio >change that to 16:9 for 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 widescreens > now that you have done that you can go to the resolution and there should be those options now

And the thread is over 3 years old. I'm pretty sure OP fixed the issue already...

If you suffer with this like I have, there is a simple fix. Make sure it's in fullscreen rather than windowed (no border). That's the whole issue.
