Microsoft .net framework "First time install" every single time I open a game
Really getting annoying. Sat here for about 10 minutes so that I can play the witcher 2, which then, most of the time complains that there isnt a disc installed when i bought it off steam. Really getting fed up of steam. Anyone know how to fix the microsoft net framework first time install ?

That means the installer is failing. Run the dotnet intsaller manually and see what part is actually failing.

Where is it (to find manually that is) ?

usually its in c;\program files\steam\steamapps\common\witcher2 and look in there. each game does it differently. Some group everything into a 'redist' folder. Others somewhat hap hazardly throw stuff around.

.NET can also be finicky when it comes to UAC. If you run the redist as Administrator, you shouldn't have as many installation issues. Also, make sure you restart your computer after you install it.

Tried to manually repair it but it still auto-ran it when I opened the witcher 2 again.

It also said I can remove it, but i'm assuming that you need it on there?

This is ridiculous. I can't even get the game to run now, it's just in a constant loop.

Do this

1) Uninstall Dot net
2) REBOOT
3) Reinstall Dot net
4) REBOOT

It looks like your dotnet install got really messed up which is why its nto completing. You MUST REBOOT between steps or you'll just screw it up more.
