Borderlands 2 update problem
So I'm stuck on dial up, I can get steam to open just fine and I am getting some games to download (although at a slow rate, but its still downloading.) But now for some reason borderlands 2 recent update of about 41mb just refuses to download, Ive gotten it to 9.4mbs after a lot of tedious pausing and start and restarting. I've tried deleting the client resister and deleting everything but steam.exe and steamapps folder, tried verifying integrity of the file which comes back with nothing, tried switching download options to other countries but still nothing seems to fix the constant suspending. Is there any way I can perhaps download the update file from somewhere else and skip steam or perhaps there is some option I havent tried?

I am in the exact same boat, its true with Torchlight 2 as well, it seems any big update will "time out" and you will be stuck there. The only way for me to proceed (which sucks) is to put my Steam Directory on USB and log in from a high speed source, get the updates, and copy/paste back on my PC. Then it has to go through a configuration process when you open BL2 which takes about 20 mins (after the copy/paste) time, and I have to do this for every update.

The best solution if you dont play co-op (I do so this is why I deal with it) is not to sign in on dial up when using steam, it will not find a connection and force "offline" mode which will allow you to play (so long as your games are currently installed correctly) So once you get your BL2 in a playable state, just never sign in online again, and you wont be faced with this.

I have the same issue.. Borderlands2 will not update. It says it's downloading then suspended then downloading again. My dialup modum says I'm recieving data but nothing gets downloaded.
Daddys Little Helper Do you copy the entire steam folder or just the steamapps folder?

It's been a few years, but I think it was the BL2 folder as well as getting the Steam App ID for BL2, then I think doing the verify game.
I got it work eventually but it was frustrating. The other thing you could try is backing up BL2 from Steam > Backup and Restore Games
