Restore origianal game files

I messed up my game (skyrim) with an ENP manual install and now I can't get it all back out. I went from 30 fps to around 18. I CTD when I loot some items or pick up some plants. I can go back and repeat the CTD. I believe my scripts are all messed up, my data folder has overwritten textures, and I have a bunch of stuff overwritten in my program files directory. I just want to save my save files, re-download an original copy of skyrim and then reload all the mods I like... I've tried to get help from steam but they must be so busy they haven't got to my question. I did find a steam support comunication to someone else "How to restore your game to the original settings" but it did't work. I fund in using a web searh but can't find it using any steam search. Thats just not right. The message indicated that you could add "~" before "skyrim in your game list and then click on the game, team would download the origainal files... didn't work.. I got a "game not avalilable" This seems like a normal request to me, whey can't I find help here? I've searched several Steam forums and I get zero results wich make me wonder how powerfull the searh engine is. Help anyone.. I'm about to buy another copy or a disk just so I can continue the game. thanks...

Verify the integrity of the game cache files.

Buying the game again won't help, because you've already got the files on your computer. It'd be a waste of money to re-purchase.

Verifying the game cache files should overwrite any files that are incorrect with the proper versions.

Yes but when it fails you may have to delete and redownload the whole game again i guess.

Actually deleting the game and redownloading it may be the only thing that works properly. Verifying the game cache won't remove a mod completely, it will simply make sure all the original files are correct - the mod may not have over written any original files.

Even the "delete local files" option doesn't necessarily get rid of mods as user installed files are left behind.

So if verifying doesn't help then you'll need to "delete local files" but then go to your steamapps folder and manually delete anything skyrim related. Then redownload the game.

I'm not certain but wouldn't the backup he created also include the mod in question?

I ran into a problem with a mod that was suppose to fix the neck tan line on the NPCs by blending them in. It worked but the faces looked like they were burned and all black.

After doing as many troubleshooting steps as possible I had to delete everything skyrim from my computer and reinstall everything all over again.

I played through all of Splinter Cell Blacklist (My favourite game) and I was getting bored of Fishers face, So I installed a balaclava texture to replace his model, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my game and I ended up just downloading local content, and re downloading. Once it was done, re launched the game and it crashed. That was about a year ago and ever since I've been looking for a fix.

Here is a method, re-download the mod, place one file at a time in folder, replace it with original, and delete again, then verify the game cache
It worked for my Batman AC
