How to acheive the best microphone recording?

Hi, I'm trying to record some gameplay with FRAPS, I have a Wireless Logitech Headset H800. I'm sure it isn't a bad microphone considering it IS 99 dollars (Better not be a rip off).

I don't have any problems with the microphone itself, what I'm worried about is the quality of my voice while recording. You see, my friend has the EXACT same headset, so we game over skype. Whilst reviewing my FRAPS recordings, I recognize his voice is CRYSTAL clear, almost like I'm in the same room as him. While mine is electronic, fuzzy, it sounds like I'm talking over a poor XBL chat connection. I'm assuming it could be because of FRAPS, and that I should use a different program like dxtory or bandicam, but maybe there is some setting I need to adjust myself to get rid of that electronic-like feeling in my voice?

To make it sound more clear, let's just say the differences in our voices sounds like HE is the one recording, not me. As if it were his video.

Granted, I could use my webcams mic, but that would suck because of the background noise.
What could be the issue? Is it because we are chatting over skype, instead of in-game chat?

i have recorded with fraps and the thing you shoudn't do is talk on the mic while using fraps. i did this in one of my videos and it just recorded my voice and none of the game sound. so what i do is a face my webcam down and record with that. then i go into the trial version of sony vegas pro and I edit in my sound audio and my gameplay. but make sure that you stop recording on both devices, otherwise it will make it really difficult to edit. hope this helped

I have already stated that my webcam wouldn't work because it's not right up to my face, and would have a fuzzy background noise.

I've also tried bandicam, and that didn't seem to work either.
