Steam Community down?

I can't get into the forums, network error. Nor can I play the games I've tried to play, it says "No Connection" at the bottom of the STEAM window. Yet I'm able to brwose games and post?

Same as me mate. I read they had some hardware changes and were now doing a software update although I would have expected better communication on here.

You want them to tell you that community is down... on the community page that is unavailable because it is down?

They did make a post on the the steam forums at about 4.30 saying it would be about 15 minutes (it obviously went a little over).

Wow I actually thought it was another DDoS attack... well if it was maintenence then they should have had a backup service telling everyone what was going on, but hey that's just me an A+ certified gamer saying his 2 cents. I would expect more out of an older company, tisk, tisk.

my trouble now is that when i launch the game it loads ten and it exits after that
This problem started when the server was down
