Can someone help me with this problem?

I downloaded steam and cs 1.6 earlyer today and i loaded cs 1.6 up and then as it is loading a white screen just comes up with a grey box saying "Runtime error! program ...rogram files\steam\steamapps\account name\counter-strike\hl.exe abnormal program termination" Then closes out and then i tryed uninstalling cs 1.6 and reinstalling it. that didnt work it said the same message. Then i uninstalled everything cs 1.6 and steam. then i restarted my computer then downloaded steam again and reinstalled cs 1.6 and it still said the same message and i did the uninstalling and reinstalling again but this time i went into my program files and then i went into steam\steamapps\account name\ counterstrike\ hl.exe loaded that to see if it will work and still no ....

i Opened my Hardware manager. ... Im using my windows xp desktop. I open Display Adapter Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics controller

How about the specifications of the computer you are using?

If you have Runtime error thats because you don't have Microsoft visual c++
Yes possible that your config is on d3d or software instead of OpenGL (that can be problem if you didn't install graphic card drivers).
