Steam connections issues (yes, I searched)
Ok, so I have tried about everything. I have installed steam about numerous times now and still get "Steam is having trouble connecting to Steam servers."

I have tried the troubleshooting guide on the website. All my correct ports are open, my router is compatible, tired running Steam to connect with TCP "-tcp", installed steam deleted everything but Steam.exe and ran it, I don't have any conflicting programs, my firewall has every steam file allowed, I am not using Norton or Mcafee.

I am completely lost. I ran a Steam port checker and it had no failed ports.

No clue whats going on here.

I am not on a campus of a university or using a ISP that is conflicting.

Do you have another computer in the house you can try to connect to Steam with, to test the connection that way?
BIGtoeknee 17/set./2012 às 7:37
Yup. I will try that

Well that was a big failure, my other computer is a Mac and it just refuses to open and gives me an error.

What crash log does your Mac give you?

"Steam failed to load: *SteamStartEngine(0xbfffe068) failed with error 1: CMultifieldBlob(pSerialized): PArtial field header at end of record"

I have a Borderlands 2 redemption code and I need steam to get this. This is my first time using this but I am not computer illiterate. My first experience with this application isn't going well. Origin works fine :)

Go to /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steam and delete "ClientRegistry.blob"

I have done that before and it hasn't worked. I will give it another try.

I actually don't have that folder. I have deleted it in my installation folder before.

BIGtoeknee 17/set./2012 às 9:39
Ok I can connect via a Mac. I wonder what's going on with my PC?

Another Mac tip here but you could also try it on ur PC:
Go to
/Users/"UserName"/Library/Application Support/Steam/
Open up the registry.vdf, follow the following hierarchy:
Registry/HKCU/Software/Valve/Steam/
Under Steam, find the line that looks like:
"Offline" "1"
and change "1" to "0"

I checked the registry and they are "0". Thanks for the help on the Mac tho.
