How do I change my Steam Status?

I'm wanting to know how to change "Online" to other things I'd want to say so my friends know I'm away from my computer doing what.

In the bottom right of the Steam client, right-click your picture.

At the very top of Steam are some drop-down menus. Select the one that says "Friends" and choose the status you want from there.

This can also be done from a chat window by clicking the arrow next to your username.
