Is steam down right now?

I just updated steam, and I can't seem to log in. Is this a problem with steam or with me? I already tried to delete clientregistry.blob which usually works, to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?

Fair point, but surely fixing this and an apology would suffice?

Is it working now for anybody? I tried it 15 mins ago and it still gave me the same old cack. Has anyone had their update stop at 99 percent and get stuck there?

Ermmm....My Steam was, and is, working fine, 5 minutes after a short network outage. I can load at least one game (I tested "Cogs" which I suppose might not be a real test). I'm not updating anything though, that I know of.

I don't mean to sound like a noob, but when the fix is released, how do you download it? Do they jsut update the steam installer for you to download, or is there a special link? Can someone post a link here if you get it. Also good on you Mr. Hoten

I think there was some server error, I was not able to keep some things in my shopping cart. All is well ATM.

since the update, earlier today, i cannot access steam. the update actually never finished successfully!!

This fix is live now. Restarting the Steam client will pick up the fix when the client auto-updates.

Thanks a bundle, but what if the Steam client doesn't do anything when you click it?

Then you probably have another steam client process that is stuck. You can kill that one and try again.

I just tried this, and received the "Problem with installation, please reinstall Steam" message again. However, it only took a few seconds. Maybe uninstalling it and reinstallinng it would work, now?

I did that, but it told me that steam needed to be installed into an empty folder. So now I don't have any games installed and I don't know if my saved games are still here.
