The only thing it depends on is if there game has cheat codes. Anything already built into the game won't cause any problems.

Well, considering that he wants to use codes, it is either a multiplayer with enabled cheats or a single player game, so no harm.

Ninja'ed

I'm playing single player mode and want directions on how to enable the cheat codes ....what is VAC

Valve Anti-Cheat. Put "VAC ban" into Google to see many hilarious stories. Last I checked, if you typed in "vac ban" it would autofill "for no reason" as the top result.

VAC bans go out for doing things like using game cheats or hacks that were not put in place by the game manufacturer. Using cheat codes that the developer created isn't so much "cheating" as just using optional tools in the system, really. Using a third-party aim-assist in an FPS, on the other hand, would be overt cheating and warrant a VAC ban.

A little common sense: using things which are part of the game won't get you banned because they're part of the game.

BWAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH

I see those posts all over the boards, too. Amazing how it's always "for no reason" and the writer of the message always insists they have not cheated. -_-
