THIS GAME DOES NOT WORK PERIOD WHAT'S THE PROBLEM AND ARE THEY GOING TO FIX IT ?

A scale appears before the mission startup and then when the mission starts i get an engine sound but no video.

Looks like I'm not alone, this game seems to be just a pile of crap that I have wasted hours on downloading crap that doesnt work, same problem as everyone else, sound but no visuals.

i have the exact same problem but it works on my other computer thats a xp but its to slow.

Il-2 1946 will only work on my old XP computer only. this is what a friend in the gaming industry said "The problem is that the game wasn't programmed very well and it's just not optimized to run on any sort of PC. Then there is the issue of the epilepsy ♥♥♥♥ they put into the game that further ♥♥♥♥♥ things up. It's a classic example of a game where all the resources went into making it look very pretty and look accurate and very little into the actual meat of the game, the programming." download the 1.08 beta patch and this will solve your problem. I had the same problem, downloaded, followed instructions and installed beta 1.08. Problems solved! Good luck!!

Guys......The game is very demanding on PC's, I have a sh*t hot PC(see my profile to see PC specs) if I do say so myself and have only recently been able to play since upgrading.

Ive posted the same Im posting below on developers page, Im not going to write all again diferently. Its not working, I bought it 3 days ago and wont load, read the rest below if you care to save your time and have windows xp

My specs before you say I dont have enough:
- Win XP SP3
- i7-2600 CPU@3.40GHz (default, I never OC anything CPU, mem or GPU)
- 4GB ram
- Nvidia 560GTX (plenty of good frame rate all in ultra high setting in less than 10 times I got it to load)

It runs all the new nicest games @ full high settings, ArmA, Skyrim, Aerofly, Dishonored, and other that maybe forgot. And believe me, never crashed to desktop or blue screen if only ArmA does crashed sometimes at their early stages of development.

Its exactly my problem as described on quote, I bought the game 3 days ago at Steam and cannot play, and could not until now, it says it support win xp sp3 at Steam and everywhere, so you should support it...right?.. sorry the sarcasms :)

Well, I´d love the first IL2 Sturmovic, birds and expansions, but this one Cliffs of Dover is the only and worst game I ever bought, Im comming back from work every night expecting to make it work...the frustration on it is unbelievable, Im very, very unhappy.

"Now I have the game I was expecting for long and cannot play" This phrase dosent make sense, is wrong. I´m being nice, believe me, around this 3 days, I´ve read all over the internet it have problems and crashs trying to solve it, but its really on your end to solve it, I wish I had read it before buying.

I´ve being able to "sometimes" in this 3 days and more than...believe me, I know is a lot more...100´s of times changing settings and trying to play, when it goes, with a very nice FPS (frame rate) really, Im serious, very fast, but it crashs to desktop, all of the few 5 or even 10 maybe times it loads from menu to game it crashes, less than 5 minutes was the longest, I almost believed I could play.

Please, fix it, sorry if I mean hash but you done it, build the game that dont work, and are selling it, cant even load, its like I bought an abstract peace of dream that turns in a giant nightmare. Im sure you created it do make money, but to please people also, the second seems not working yet, again, yet I believe you will do it, or want to at least.

If you have mor 2Gb Ram - you need a x64 bit OS, then you need Win 7 x64.
On this OS game work is good.
I have same system of your and i dont have any problem with Il-2 Cliffs of Dover.

Witcher, did you read that all? I dont need win 7x64, my system is capable 64 but I dont need more than 3.4GB the 32 bits system provides, the game do not use more than 2.5GB with full settings working.

Said that, the developers say its win xp 32 capable, the sellers say its winxp 32 capable, WHY IN THIS WORLD SHOULD I CHANGE MY OS?!

Witcher, they need to fix it, I wont buy win 7 until 2014 win xp support at least, they need to provide support for it or my money back to buy one that I can play. if until there Steam yet convince the mayors developer creator to make it work with Linux, I will use that, not win 7 o 8. If not, Ill upgrade to win 7 only next year or more for games only as I use Linux as my major OS to work and duties.

Its your wrong to think we need to fix, or pay more and more to fix something is missdeclared, missleading, just as in here, Brazil, the only difference is I trust they are not cheating, and maybe they are fixing the game, working on it, but the game exist for long, how long they pretend to continue work on it, are they planning to drop win xp without a note? Thats unfair and almost a robbery. If they can fix it, I dont know, thats why Im very cautious with, if I need to wait til 2014 to play it will be an old game already and maybe there will be another as good or better.

Games are made to provide pleasure as almost all products, and this one is failing terrible.

This game update from DX9 to DX10. And if you want play CLOD, try play in realese version (install from dvd-box and off automatically update) or install last version, but play on DX10. For dx10 need Win Vista or Seven. Then - your choise.

Well, thanks for the info but, my choice is try a refund, its a steam dlc, not dvd-box.
