Play all your games in Windowed borderless mode.

I realize the old Steam forums are being used less and less, and probably not at all by new users so i figured i'd make a new tread here.

Hey all, i prefer my games to be windowed for alt/tab but i also prefer my games to look full screen, i know there's allot of "scripts" out there for specific games but i figured id write up one app to enable it for all my games.

=====INSTRUCTIONS=====

Adding a game's window.

• Run the app and start up a game.
  
• Make sure you run the game in windowed mode before adding it to the app.
  
• After you have set your game to run windowed, click the app's tray icon and select "Add window"
  
• Go back to your game and while the game window is active press "F3"
  
• Your game should now be in windowed border-less mode, your settings are saved so the app will recognize your game whenever it runs in windowed mode again and automatically set it to be borderless.

Forcing borderless window.
In addition to automatically setting your games borderless you can also trigger this action by pressing F4 while ingame.

Removing a game

• Click the app's tray icon and select "Open game settings"
  
• select the game and press Delete, this app no longer manages that games window style.

Setting a windows position
By default the borderless window is positioned at coordinates 0,0 on your screen, in the rare event that the game's window is an odd one you can edit the coordinates in the config file by changing the "PosX" and "PosY" values in the Game settings.

Attempting to re-size a window
By default the game doesn't re-size, but in case its necessary you can do so in the game settings, which can be found by clicking on the tray icon.
In most cases it is advisable to use your native resolution.

DXWnd instructions
This app detects DXWnd if a DXWnd folder is in the same folder as this app's exe.
You can download my simplified version of DXWnd here[gc-modding.googlecode.com] or get a advanced version maintained by ghotik here[sourceforge.net]
If you downloaded my version just extract the contents to the same directory as WindowedBorderlessGaming.
If you downloaded the other version create a folder called DXWnd 1st and then extract the files there.

* There is now a proper settings menu, so you can edit your game settings and apply them without restarting the game. (The config file is still available for whoever wants to do it manual) Settings are launched as a separate process to not increase need for resources.
* Config file is written more tidy to increase reading/writing actions speed for those who have a huge list of games added to it.
* When selecting "Add window" it will time out after 15 seconds in case you chose the option by accident.

believe it or not the issue with FPS is being caused mostly by people having their graphics card in the wrong slot. If you run a single graphics card use the factory recommended PCI slot on your Mother Board. All the videos and stuff on Youtube are great, but they forget to mention that Fallotu 4 only works if your PC is built right to begin with. I myself was guilty of this, and have a gaming rig that is a Monster, and should have eaten Fallout 4 like trash. Turned out this was my issue, and I didn't figure it out till I tried every fix on youtube and Nexusmods and still had lag. If all else fails move your graphics card around till you get the right slot, mine is the MSI z97 gaming 7, and for a single card it recommends slot 2 (second from the top down). My ping went from 15 low/40 high, to up to 3000 by manipulating Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel.

Monster Monpiece can be added as successful test (for those who get Screen Tearing I advice you to use this app in combination with D3DOverrider, my AMD software forcing triple buffering and Vsync did not help)

i use alt tab a LOT especially in the witcher, so thank you sooooooooooooo much!

I'm not entirely sure if this is true, but I believe that putting it on borderless fullscreen removes the 4Gb patch changes that are sometimes necessary for Dragon Age: Origins.

Or at least I think it does, since my modded DA:O started crashing due to low texture memory after I added it to the Windowed Borderless app. After I removed it from the app, it still crashed until I reapplied the 4Gb patch, and now it works perfectly. It's a shame I don't think I will be using it on this game(although I'll probably use it on others).
