Logging in

Hi All, For the past two days I've been unable to log into steam to play my games. I can log-in here fine but will not log-in to play games. It says 'could not connect to steam network' - stating this may be a problem with internet or server. but from what I see here, servers are fine and my internet is perfect so what's wrong? anyone know? how does this get fixed? Sent a mail to Steam Support - no response yet

Make sure your firewall and router are not blocking the connection.

I've had Steam for over two years and never seen this before - it installs Steam Updates (like it does everyday) and goes to sign in - fails. I have looked through those that you've sent me there, does not seem to be any of that, least it doesn't seem like it. I will keep trying though. Have you come across this before?

Can't explain the past few days to you but currently the servers are having problems, check other recent discussions.

People I now be able to purchase games so if it's related to that problem it should be fixed, if you still can't login I don't know :/

Are you writing this in your browser? Then maybe your Steam is simply in Offline Mode; I at least had this problem once, where I could not log in to L4D2, logically.
