only i cant see my tf2 sprays

i have recently started messing with sprays in team fortress 2 and i have followed several sources on how to make and import sprays and they seem to work, i can see my spray when i place it, but when i play with one of my friends he says he cant see them. some of the sprays i have made work to where he can see them, but a majority of them wont appear for him, i can see them fine, but he cant. does anyone know what the problem might be and how i can fix it?
