Crafting a second level badge only gave me 100 xp

Currently a level 12. I had 153 xp to go until my next level (lvl 13).

I decided to trade around for some cards to craft a second level badge being that the second level would be 200 xp. After crafting it I see I'm still a level 12, 53 xp to go till next level... what gives?

It shows now that if I craft that same game badge (for the third level) it would be worth 300 xp.

Am I missing something?

Hello there,

Every badge crafted (no matter which level) will earn you 100XP
Level 5 Badge is worth 500XP in total.

Why then does my second level badge say 200 xp next to it, and the third level badge say 300 xp?

In fact, quoted from the Steam Cards FAQ:

"...Each time you upgrade the game badge you'll get an extra 100XP..."

Yes, you will get an extra 100 XP everytime you upgrade the game badge.

The 200XP or 300XP just show the total XP you have earned from the badge. :)

I think I misinterprited the wording, even just now. But why do the badges have incrementingly higher values of XP? Jeez even as I'm asking these questions I'm assuming the answer. I guess it's saying "This is how much XP you would have earned in total by crafting badges for this game"

I guess I got confused. Thanks for your help guys.

damn....i always thought you'd get 100xp more then the last level of the badge............
