A lot of physical memory usage?
I just reformated my Windows 7 pc, but my computer stil uses 30% physical memory when I have no intensive apps runninig.
I have installed lots of Security programs. including:

Bitdefender
Superantispyware
Comodo
Malwarebytes
I also have the windows firewall on.

Is one of these things causing problems? Or could a wrong install of a driver cause the problem?

Not... exactly informative...
Bitdefender is far from the most "fat free" anti-virus package but that normally means it takes up a lot of disk space rather than RAM usage (we just switched from it at work for that reason as the older machines did not like it at all).

I think the issue may be the number of programs rather than any individual one. You have two anti-spyware programs so unless there's a good reason, only use one. Also, never run two firewalls at the same time as that can cause problems.

Also, the OS will natively use ~1 - 1.5GB RAM even when doing nothing. How much RAM do you have? 30% of 16GB is a whole different kettle of fish to 30% of 4GB!

I have 8gb ram. But it's good to know a Virus probably isn't causing this XD (you can see by the overkill of security programs that I am a bit paranoid when it coms to viruses >.>)
I am also kinda a newbie when it comes to Windows 7 >.>
So please forgive any posibly stupid questions

No worries, better over than under-prepared! Always a good idea to protect your investment :) so around 2.4 GB RAM usage right? that's quite high, but as I said, that will probably go down. Google Chrome can also use a fair bit of RAM sometimes so if you've got that open it'll skew the results

After a year of saving money and then getting a malware after 1 month of use. I am pretty paranoid about keeping my computer virus free ;P
What are the 2 antispywares? superantispyware (obviously) and whats the other?

malwarebytes is also anti-spyware I believe - correct me if I am wrong! I wouldn't worry too much about the RAM usage unless your PC starts crashing or RAM usage goes any higher (whilst not doing anything that is) as security is probably more important!

I got kinda worried because before I reformated my computer, I had 30% ram usage because of the virus (only had AVG installed back then). But it's good to know my computer is probably safe :P. Thanks a lot for your help.
Note this is not the XP days. Windows 7 will allocate as much memory as is available. There is no need to "drop feed" memory to applications. If you have more memory, win7 will use more of it to make your system faster. And it will claw back memory if more is needed.

Unless your system is generating hard faults, don't worry about memory usage. Windows 7 knows how to manage it.
