It pretty much just compares your specs to the minimum and recommended requirements and tells you how it may run. Take the results with a grain of salt, but it should be a good guideline to run on.

you just have to focus on the games released from 1996 to 2006
Unfortunately you have to remember that it's human nature to rip on others. If you posted a PC with the latest processor and video card and 16 gigs ram, someone would post, "Why do you need so much RAM when the most a computer would use is 6 or 8..." blah blah.
That's what people do. I had an older PC and I knew it's limits but that didn't stop friends from giving me crap all the time. Then I upgraded but it still wasn't good enough cause it had VISTA. Now I have a 3d laptop with a very good cpu and gpu and still get crap cause it's a laptop and not a "real gaming pc."
