What happens on steam when its your birthday?

Nothing, I don't even think that they know your birthdate. They only ask when you visit age gated store pages, and even then it is just stored in a cookie and they only ask for that reason.

Yea I wish Steam did like others did.

On my birthday I always get an email from places like EA, Ubisoft, Logitech, Razor...
with discount codes that I have a few months (up to a year in some cases) to use for online store discounts.
