All games; Engine Error, error code 80 or P65432
Hey, long time user, first time complainer.. Everything seemed to be working fine last night, but this morning, none of my games work, (each do at least one of the below), Red Faction Armageddon worked fine of the 26th, and Don't Starve also worked fine last week. I didn't even play anything last night, just installed some Demos. Any suggestions?

Application load error P:0000065432

failed to start (error code 80)

Engine Error
Steam is not running. You must start Steam in order to play this game.

Please include system hardware specs & OS.
Otherwise can't really help much.

EDIT:

Yea it's Steam issue. It happens sometimes.
Go to Steam folder and delete ClientRegistry.blob file.
Then re-launch Steam Client.

I've rebooted the computer, verified the integrity of game cache, turned off auto update, virus scanned, optimised disk, defragged.. I'm thinking about deleting local game content, unless anyone has any other suggestions?

yes restart system in admin

Yea if u are not Admin, that could be problem. U can't "change" much really without being an Admin user.

And if u use the system all day long as an Admin user, well that's just asking for troubles. But many things do require the Admin user.

I looked up your errors, seems to happen to alot of people with Steam and it's games. All my years I've never seen this problem first hand.

Only other thing I can really suggest is to download/run Malwarebytes and Spybot to help ensure you're not infected with something. De-select TeaTimer option during Spybot's installer.

Then if still no help. Go to Steam folder and DO NOT delete the following...
> Steam.exe
> UserData folder
> SteamApps folder
...but delete the rest of files/folders in the Steam folder.

Then run Steam.exe (by right clicking the file, Run As Admin)

If you do the latter, don't forget to verify the integrity of each game. Otherwise most games will crash or refuse to start.

I uninstalled Steam, cleared all files from the computer, but *sigh* still have the same 'error code 80' after reinstalling Steam, ffs.
BurlyD Sep 7, 2013 @ 3:01am
Okay, so why would my games only work when I am in offline mode ??

NVM, after some pretty long unpdate, the issue has mysteriously fixed itself, thank you Steam :)
