Splinter Cell Blacklist Key

Hi guys,

i'm willing to buy a Splinter Cell Blacklist Deluxe Edition key, but i actually have a dilemma.
I've heard that even if you buy a steam key for that game, you redeem it on steam but it will open Uplay anyways.
So, since UPlay's keys are cheaper than steam's ones, is there any difference between having it on Steam and having it on UPlay, adding it to non-steam games?

steam achievements mainly, and if they add trading cards or other features you won't get them at all. also if you're in the usa, i've heard most of the blacklist keys from less than reputable sources only work OUTSIDE the usa.

Also, i think i won't be able to trade it on steam if i want to, right?

keys can never be added to a steam account as a tradable gift. supposedly valve is making an update in the future that would let you loan out games to friends for a period of time (hints were found in the steam application somewhere last month) but that hasnt happened yet.

A friend gave me the Homeland DLC but I don't get a activation code?
Any solutions?

So when you click View CD Key on Splinter Cell Blacklist is there no key listed there for the DLC?

blacklist is broken

No difference at all for that game, except an additional DRM-layer. I don't think there are any steam keys for that anyway since it's all Uplay, so only when you buy it on Steam Store.

Well, (most) Uplay games don't have that anyway. So no loss there.
