Verify Email Adress....again?

I loged in and there was a green bar at the top of my steam asking me to verify my email adress.

Why am I being asked to do this again. o_O

new NSA protocol...verify email addresses so that game library may be assessed to narrow down possible deviants based on game preferences. For example, my buddy purchased killing floor, papers please, and sleeping dogs in a 10 minute period and got V& due to his trend of ultra-violence anti-government and anarch sentiments displayed in his purchase hostory.

However is that a normal thing for steam to do? Should I be concerned?

When in doubt, check the validity of the email address on record. Change your email password and verify access to it afterward (change security question if you want to). Change your Steam password and then re-verify the account in steam.

That way if your email was compromised you just threw them out. If you Steam was somehow compromised they no longer have access.

PS: Also run a viral scan.

In all likelyhood though, there is probably nothing to worry about. I've had this happen a couple of times after the Steam client updated or if I was switching between which computer I was logged into.
