Adding nonsteam games to steam?

Hey, i got very many nonsteam games that also exist on steam, is there any way i can add them to become on my steam account? Or do i need to buy them again to get them on steam?

adding non-steam games is basically a shortcut system. I beleve you can add those games

As Jett said you can add non-steam games but it's just a shortcut the game won't download or patch through Steam. For that you would need to purchase them again.

go to the games tab and at the bottom it should say add non-steam game and it will give you a list of programs and your games. select your games and add them

You can add whatever you want to as a game, however interesting today my SKSE vanished from my "add a game" under my Skyrim V. Just have to wonder what Steam is doing now. Ive attempted adding a new shortcut to add to Steam, but doesnt work, however the game still plays with the SKSE icon for Skyrim on my desktop. Maybe it's a glitch.

If a game is newer and comes with a CD-key, there's a very slim possibility that inputting that key onto Steam can get you a legitimate Steam copy. Those scenarios are pretty few and far between though, and is even less likely the older the game is.

Maybe try contacting the games developers if there's a game that seems like a possibility.

What i actual ment that i want those nonsteam games to steam by the cd key, causer i don't like nonsteam games anymore.

You can kind of add them. It shows in your library just like any Steam game but as mentioned it is basically just a shortcut of sorts. Here is a video on it:

I know how that works. And i don't want to install the old games the old way, cause then i need to uninstall all of them when i need to format my pc anyways.

Plus old games requires the disk whenever i want to play them
