Visa Gift Card Not Working
So I recently bought a Visa Gift Card with $50 loaded on it, I waited a day, activated it online, entered my information to load $50 into my steam wallet, but it gave me this message:

"An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact Steam Support."

I am not sure why it gave me this error, I entered all my information correctly.

Have you tried it using a different browser or other computer? Sometimes It miraculously works!

Yeah. I've tried mobile, ipods, ipads, but I haven't tried another laptop. That might work, but I kinda doubt it.

I didn't find the problem, but I went to gamestop and bought a 50$ steam card with it, but that worked, so I'm happy.

It's easier to get a Steam Wallet card, just scratch & type the code into Steam. With the Visa & MasterCard you need to type more information. You can use them as soon as you get home, just type all the information.

For Steam cards you go to the top of Steam to "redeem a steam wallet code".

For Visa or MasterCard Vanilla gift cards you'd treat it like a real credit card by going to the Steam Store to a game and purchase, select Visa or MasterCard in payment options and type the info it asks for, which comes with the card.

expiration date
3 or 4 digit code (can't remember, look at card)
and the longer code
home address if needed

@kenny, I hope you realize that this post was asking what I could do with my visa gift card, because I had entered all my information correctly, and still didn't work.

"Due to changes in applicable law, gift cards purchased after March 31, 2012 may not be used for international transactions or purchases. Please use gift cards for domestic U.S. transactions or purchases only."

It's probably because you live in Canada.
