Do games take up memory space?
When you install a game on Steam do theytake up memory on your computer or are they stored somewhere else? I also want to know if you can uninstall games from Steam. Thanks

Just step away from the PC now before you hurt yourself.

I see no problem in asking this question. I'm pretty new to Steam so I don't know much. Maybe you could keep your rude comments to yourself.

The games you download take up space on your hard drive, they dont consume system memory until you play them, and its easy to uninstall them, just right click on the game in your steam list and delete the local content, and the game is uninstalled.

This question makes senses when you know games editors want to put games in the cloud.
This is not the case for Steam games, thefunkyone is right. You can check by looking up your free space before and after installing a game. Plus you can see games are downloaded :)

your steam library only takes up Hard drive space if you download/install the game

It's very basic and simple...

Steam and anything from it (such as Games or Tool apps) get stored on your Local Hard Disk, just like any application u install.

RAM only gets used during the times Steam Client is actually running, or when u launch a game.

If you right click on the game in your library, you'll note it has an option: Delete Local Content.

That does exactly what it says it'll do. Anything specific to that game stored on your system (ie, locally) gets deleted.

So follow up question on this thread- If you delete the local content but then decide later on that you want to re-play the game can you install it again easily? (obviously without your previous saves/achvs as you'd have to start from the beginging)

@GeekClown

You have to download the game again but yes you can download, install, play and delete the game as often as you like. The game is forever registered to your Steam Account.
