Does offline mode count towards hours played?
Yes, I've looked at Google and the latest thing about it was mentioned sometime early 2012 stating that it does not. Then other sites stated they are. Then Steam said yes and no on the whole ordeal.

With the new updates that Steam added recently (trading cards, can actually play in offline without errors, etc.) does the offline mode count towards your time, and if not only that, but towards your achievements as well (as I've heard mixed rumors about achievements).

Thanks in advance!

It seems to work for me when in offline mode for both time played and achievements the way steam works is that you have these details save on the "steam cloud" and your pc when you connect to the internet again it will sync with which ever is most recent updating your hours and achievements.

I have a game that steam says i have played 4.6 hours of. I know for a FACT that i have played a LOT more than that (probably triple or quadruple), but, it was all in offline mode on my netbook.

So in MY experience, it doesn't count the hours. (It also lumps the achivement dates in at the same time/date so it looks like you got them all at the same time)

Alright, thanks for the feedback. I've heard like some of VALVe's games or certain AAA titles will count/stack the hours, but like older games won't. I was just curious if anything new changed since the latest upgrade on Steam. Thanks again!

Depends solely on the game for achievements I'm afraid. You'll have to check each respective forum and ask there. There's a higher percentage of games that don't give you offline achievements once you're online, and even if they do they will not be able to log the exact time you got the achievement and just sync the exact time you logged back on the client and you'll have the same timestamp for all of them.

Total playtimes are usually only added if you're in offline mode not actually completely offline and these offline playtimes aren't reflected in your profile.

I have played Steam games while the Wi-Fi was out several times. No, it doesn't.

Borderlands- on steam says I have 9 hours played
In Borderlands level 52 with 37 hours.... I think in offline mods you will only receive achievments.
