My account has been hijacked\stolen - help + tips(already made a ticket)

I'm seriously starting to worry now as it's already been 4 days since i've submitted a ticket and valve still havn't replied - i have no idea how this individual managed to get my details at all. I've spent so much damn money on that account and it seems there's little to nothing i can do about it - even after seeing him actually online on my account.. Does anyone know of any possible alternatives to retrieving accounts or something i can atleast do besides wait here and be useless?

Keep waiting. No one here can help you. Most people get their accounts hijacked by entering their steam information in a bogus website with the promise of free games or something. Sound familiar?

i never entered my details on any site besides the official valve one, i'm far from that stupid - literally nothing like this has happened to me before - i'm just baffled at how one was able to hack my account - change my email etc without me even doing anything.

Also, if i screenshot my items on that account - and they get traded off - are they refundable from valve?

If you was not phised then the other explanation is you have a virus on your PC. There are not a lot of other options. Either you gave someone your info, you was phised or a virus on your computer sent the information to someone. How much good would it do to get your account back if your PC is still not secured?

im not sure.. how can i even confirm i have a virus - or that it's still not secured - i ran multiple scans and nothing even came up on it..

i've been using an alternative steam account excessively + logging in on other things and non of them have been touched\compromised that's why im confused.

Make sure steam guard is enabled. For maximum security I recommend linking your steam account with gmail, and then protect that gmail account with 2 step log in.

It's probably too late now but you can try going to the Steam login screen and clicking "forgot password" and answer your security question.

Steam Guard should've prevented this highjacking but if you use the same password on Steam and your email, it's really pointless.

i was trying to find the security question - i could never get the option to answer it though?
