TrackMania: Nations Forever no online mode

I just got the game and installed it. Everything worked just fine, the download speed was huge, overall, I got the game downloaded and installed in less than 5 minutes. When I start the game, the first thing that it shows me is:
You are not online
You will not be able to connect to an account and use all of TrackMania's features.
We recommend you connect to the internet now
(Connect) (Stay offline)

I'm pretty sure I'm connected to the internet, and nothing like "Create an online account" appeard. I know this problem was posted here before, so I'm sorry :( .

If anyone can help me, I'd really aprecciate. Sorry for my English, I'm from Romania.

Some overzealous firewall getting in the way?

Other than that -- "online" doesn't actually do anything for this game; it doesn't even store your progress on a server.

When I first ran the game it asked me to click ok in order to get a firewall exception, so I don't think so.

you need create an acount, if you can't create in the game go to the trackmania web and register there

Yeah thanks for replying almost a year after. Fixed by myself. Steam forums are useless as always.

That was so long ago I don't remember, to be honest I didn't think anyone still plays that game so I didn't even think about telling others, as it seemed it only happened for me. And thanks, I am a genius.

No you're an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maybe smart but if you finding a solution and not sharing then you are same kind of useless as those forums. Its great game and yes. Seven years after this topick I have same problem.
