Steam and Xfinity Wireless Gateway
Okay... trying for the life of me to figure out what I'm going to need to do here, and we all know just how helpful Comcast's outsourced customer support is. :)

Just recently had to upgrade my comcast modem (you know, for 6 years with the same one, they start hounding you to upgrade), and they set me up with one of the new Wireless Gateways. Woo-ie. Can't turn off wifi, can't make it a bridge on my own. Sure, I'll try their option, why not? >.<

Connection's faster, even over wifi, than my current router, so I like that.

But today I ran into the first bump. Bought the recent Humble Bundle, went to activate my steam keys...

"Steam Server is unavailable. Your computer is either unable to reach the Steam servers, or the service may be temporarily disabled. Please try again later."

Searching for answers has gotten me nowhere. Every answer seems to be a pat "buy your own cable modem and router" or "call Comcast and have them turn it into a bridge." Issue with the second one is it seems there are dozens of examples of people talking to reps who don't know what that means. And the first is an out of pocket expense I'd rather avoid.

So... has anyone out there been able to GET it to work on the wireless?

And yes, it seems to be fine when directly connected over ethernet, so I'm assuming it's something to do with the wireless itself.

Color me foolish. :) I've been mucking about all day with settings on this. Something I did fixed it... Steam was just in offline mode still. *facepalm*

Issue resolved. Error: PEBCAK.
