steam games crash to wierd colored lines windows 8

hi, so for the past few months, whenever i play steam games after about 30 - 5 hours my desktop crashes to a screen full of colorful lines. to fix the issue i have to restart my computer. i dont know whether it is a windows 8 problem, gpu problem, or something else. i went to event viewer and i think this is what is causing my crashes.

it says that in the event viewer. but i dont know how to fix this .net runtime error to prevent my comp from crashing. help?? i have had this computer since january this year so it is new. also, it never has crashed when i play games like minecraft that arent on steam.

i have a radeon 7970 and running the latest 13.4 cataylst driver if that helps.

Sounds like a video card failure but it could also be a video card starved for power.
