CS:GO won't start; black screen

I have had this problem multiple times now. I open up CS:GO on my windows 8 computer, and all I get is a huge black screen with my mouse on it. even with removing from task manager and re-playing, the same thing happened. I tried uninstalling then re-installing twice now, but still no cigar. This game used to start just fine the first 3 times i used it. help?

Try running in compatibility mode with either Win 7 or Win XP.

How do you run in compatibility mode?

go to Local Disk > Program Files(x86) > Steam > Steamapps > Common > CS GO > Right click the csgo.exe and go to propeties options should be there.

Reinstall DirectX, update all of your hardware's drivers.

Thanks Dragonic for posting this question.. I faced the same issue..
And thanks a lot to GmF|Danger for posting the link.. I followed the instructions of changing the launch options from game properties to -autoconfig.
and it worked.. :)

HI GUYS i had the same issue but found a solution and it works. This problem happens because cs-go's launching resolution. If your monitor resolution is less than that it will show black screen. So, just to fix this you need to change the launch option. For changing the startup
resolution of your cs-go right click on the cs-go in steam go to properties set launch option and type {-w(width) -h(height) -autoexec} for further details go to this link http://csgohelp.com/launch-options/
