Nightmare House 2 don't start

Help please i always get this error CFileSystem_Steam::Init() failed: failed to find steam interface , when i start nightmare house 2 .

This is an issue of something blocking "Nightmare House 2" trying to contact steam. Do you have Spyware Doctor? Spyware Doctor has a number of problems with steam and generally just doesn't allow the game to speak with steam thus not allowing you to play it. If you do, try completely turning Spyware Doctor off and launch. It still won't work in Game Mode mind you, it has to be completely shut off. If this isn't the case, try browsing through your firewalls and turn them off to see if they impact the game launching at all.

You need Half Life 2: Episode 2 since Nightmare House 2 is a mod of it.

Same problem except mine says that the app is already running (when it clearly isn't) I double click play mod on team, it causes the screen to blink like its about to start and then nothing happens. I have all of HL2 ep 1 and 2 and sdk but nothing happens.
