Windows 8/8.1 question
Just a quick question as i cannot find a good list on the internet. I am considering a gaming laptop that i have had my eyes on and i intend to buy it. However, it runs Windows 8 and im afraid of compatibility issues. Are there any games that do not run solidly on windows 8? I do not wish to buy the computer to find that half of my games cannot run. Thanks in advance:D:

I use a Windows 8 computer, and I have not had any compatiblity issues with games I have played on it. The operating system itself, however, has not been the most stable. Sometimes it acts pretty weird when I start up the computer, such as trying to go through the first time setup process again.

Windows 8 looks like a bad knock off of Android, I haven't used it but I'm afraid of it from what I've seen.

Thanks for the input guys, ive done some browsing and found that even the few games that might not run on 8 can run on 7 compatibility mode. Here's the PC in case you're curious, ill order it on monday http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/index.html

Makin' the switch from OSX to the dark side (MAC HATERS BUTTHURT INCOMING)
People still have issues getting games to run on XP, Vista or Windows 7. In general if it ran on Vista or 7 it will run on Windows 8 also. Tweaking might need to be done. Do not be afraid of Windows 8. It is faster and more secure than Windows 7.

Well, as secure as Windows can get. I generally prefer OSX but as im beginning to attempt to develop games and as im preparing for newer releases down the road. i have no choice but to switch to Windows

Another brainwashed minion.

If OSX was the most popular OS and every tom ♥♥♥♥ and hairy was using it then you would see that in reality it is no better. In fact it is worse in certain areas. Security intrusions on OSX have been on the rise as the product becomes more popular and what we are seeing so far is that it is an easy target.

Gonna ditch this arguement as this was not the point of the thread. One final rebuttal: Win 7 Security

Are you dropping it or not? I am well prepared for this argument. I repair computers for a living, both MAC and PC's. I like how you throw some nonsensical statement out there with no qualifications. Windows 7 has pretty good security, yes I agree. People looking for free porn downloads will bypass it though when they try and install that porn viewer they need.

I'm running on Windows 8 and I have no problem with any of the games I have installed.
