"Play" button turned into "Purchase" button - what to do?

Hi everyone here on Steam forums,
i purchased CIV 5 couple of weeks ago and after some playing i decided to upgrade to Gold. I purchased the upgrade and the installation kind of crashed. After a non-responded support ticket i deleted the game via Steam and then tried to re-install. Neither the gold upgrade nor the basic game itself could be installed.

After 2 days, the installation worked suddenly and i could play..... only until now! The "play" button on the game page in my library turned suddenly into "purchase". What is wrong???

I purchased the game and the upgrade both directly on Steam. In my account, i can see in the purchase history both, game and upgrade. But in the licenses, there is no CIV 5 anymore.

Help please, what can I do? (Support ticket already written) -.-

first try restarting steam....

2nd have you tried clicking purchase? seeing if it is actually a play button hidden as purchase?

3rd idk what else can cause it so wait for steam support.

Hi Robin,
thanks for your immediate response. Sure, restarted like hell with no success :)
And yes, i clicked on the purchase button, this leads me to the community page. From there to Store page and there is no "You already purchased" info... a pity no play button in disguise. :(

What else can I do? Looked forward to the WE to play and then this... will start crying soon. :)

hmmm have you tried a computer restart? or try signing in online and checking if the game says purchase there?

From your profile, while you have playtime in Civilization V it doesn't seem to be in your account anymore.
Does it show under Account Details(Licenses + Subscriptions)?
How did you purchase it?

Hey Tony, yes thats what i was looking for, too. I have playtime, i played like 20hours or more i think. I know that i had it under licenses. Now only the Gold upgrade is under licenses but it seems to have lost the info about the basic game. Under purchases (the other tab left to licenses) there are both, the basic game and the upgrade (beginning July was basic game purchase).... that is soooo annoying, right?!

I purchased both here in the Steam application and with paypal like all the other 30 games before ... so no problems from the type of purchase, i assume.

have you tried launching the gold version of the game? or is that not launchable in your library?
