Downloading all of Crusader Kings 2 Collection.

I bought Crusder Kings 2 Collection edition which comes with several add-ons and expansions. What was downloaded and installed on my computer (and runs just fine) is less than 2G. However, many of the expansion, such as the Republic, are 2G on their own. How do I get Steam to download those since I bought the Complete Edition?

Are you sure everything isn't installed already? I own the entire CK2 collection myself (CK2 + all DLC's) and with everything installed and up to date the game files are 1231 MB in size on my HD.

The DLC's such as Republic, Sword of Islam, Legacy of Rome etc. themselves don't actually add anything new - they just unlock content that has already been implemented in the game.

Or, put another way: the game is always updated to include the most recent content even if you don't own the DLC - you just can't play it. By buying the DLC, you unlock the ability to play it.

This is probably why installing those particular DLC doesn't add very much to the size of the game in your library. You're not actually installing any new content, you're unlocking content that's already there.

Most of the others DLC's are music files, portraits and shields etc. which aren't very large either.

If you go to the game in your library it should say DLC to the right click on that. Then visit the store page of the dlc and it should say install.

Wow, the entire game is really only 1231 MB? That's insane. (djdecks, I looked at the DLCs and it tells me "you already own this" and it has a button that says "Play" instead of DL. So I guess they are installed)
