Compatible computer playing CS 1.6 at 5 FPS? HELP!
So my mother has a HP Compaq 5850 business computer laying around and i downloaded Counter-strike 1.6 to play on it.
The game will only play at 5fps on Open GL mode, but runs fine on software mode. Only i am stuck in lefthanded while holding the gun on Software mode. Unfortunately im forced to play on this computer until my laptop gets fixed, but I dont understand why the computer (even being a business one) cannot play a game that came out like 15 years ago. My cl_updaterate and cmd rates are 101, fps_max 100, rate 100,000 are all inputed. Why is it playing at fps 5 on Open GL???? I will not play it lefthanded on software mode.
The specs to the computer are as follows:
Processor / Chipset

Number of Cores Dual-Core
64-bit Computing Yes

Also the computer has like 700 gigs on it and there are only like 50 gigs used. Idk whats going on.

I would guess, since it is a business computer and you haven't listed the vid adapter, it is only using a very simple integrated video adapter that has no real OGL support...
Like an Intel onboard that does not even support 3d.
Damn what a shame that is.
