Can't make a purchace
For the protection of the account holder, this purchase has been declined. Further purchasing will be temporarily limited - please contact Steam Support to resolve this issue. Got this message for no reason I can see. Even checked my bank and it is fine. Does steam just spaz out sometimes? I am not contacting steam support because this deal will be gone before anything is done.Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm going to retry while I get responses.

Sometimes if you purchase many things in a short period of time, Steam will temporarily Decline purchases.

Unfortunately you may miss out on the deal D: but within a day (or 2) you should be able to buy games normally again.

I haven't bought anything since the deals ended, besides some cards. But I did buy over a houndred games in the sales, if I can't but these games because I have bought to much in the sales that is beyond a joke. Command & conquer have been on my wishlist since the start of the winter sales. Will I have to contact them or just let it right itself?

That's what I want to know if I just leave it will it right itself or do I have to contact steam? Because it seems to me if you contact steam you are going to be waiting a long time for things to be fixed. Are you recatagorised if you contact them? Could it slow things down doing this?
I have had this same issue several times! Every time it was "fixed" by itself without me having to contact Steam support.

Cheers, do you have a estimate for how long? The deal is up untill monday afternoon.
In my case it was always around a day or two. I advise you not to try and purchase any games in the next 24-48 hours as it may "reset" the time you must wait.

Good luck and i hope you make it for the deal

Yeah I was thinking this myself, I'll try for it on monday. No matter what I do, it either will be or won't be possible to get. Then I can contact them.
Thanks for your help.

I am having the same issue. I am new to Steam, just got a new PC and getting into PC gaming for the first time. I bought about 130 games during the sale. My credit card company even put a hold on my card they thought it was fraud. I got their block lifted and made purchases last day, but tried to add some money to my wallet yesteday and got the same error, so we are in the same boat. Went to support, have an open ticket, but 24 hours later no reply.

I work for a credit card company in fraud and I think they do this because of whats called 'chargebacks'. Basically that is when fraud charges occur with these types of transactions Steam, not the credit card company will be eating the fraud loss. So Steam is slowing our purchases in case its fraud, giving the credit card holder the chance to report fraud on their statement before more charges keep rolling in. Just a theory though....

No, that sounds pretty likely and most probably what is happening. I am just going to let it sit a few days and then try again. It is probably automated, well I hope it is anyway.
same problem here. checked my card statement and it seems that the charges from summer sale have (mostly?) been cleared in my account; so I don't know why they block my account.

but personally, I think the purchase addiction has been bad for my wallet, and steam is saving me from further spending - LOL.
